Between chapters
Endings don’t sting,
Beginnings don’t excite.
You move from chapter to chapter,
Attempting to understand,
Pausing to share a piece,
Calling it a connection.
We gather stolen moments
Laughter, and a few tears,
Glances, hands entwined.
Lecherous we become,
Then numb as time moves on.
“Forever” lingers between chapters,
Unwritten, unfinished
And yet, despite it all,
Pursuits aren't ever pointless.
